Professional Profile
Burt, a native Tucsonan, is one of the leading members of his profession and community. He served his country as an intelligence officer and paratrooper for the 18th Airborne Corps. He is a skilled pilot and member of the Lawyer-Pilot Bar Association. A 1962 graduate of the University of Arizona College of Law, Burt's legal expertise centers on civil trial work that includes plaintiffs' personal injury, products liability, medical malpractice, aircraft litigation, and multiple party lawsuits. He has been certified as a specialist in personal injury and wrongful death nationally and by the Arizona State Bar.

Burt is an active volunteer with the Tucson Conquistadors, UA Foundation and President's Club, Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of Tucson, and, founder of the Copper Bowl Foundation. He acted as chief negotiator for Pima County to establish Tucson as a spring training center for the Chicago White Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks. He is a Significant Sig, an honor from his fraternity, Sigma Chi. In 1996, he was named Tucson's Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year. In 1997, he was name Father of the Year, and in 1998 he was inducted into the Tucson High School Hall of Fame."




Burt is a member of state and national bars, and has served as President of the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association and the American Board of Trial Lawyers (Tucson chapter). He has been appointed to numerous legal decision-making committees by Arizona's Supreme Court and served as a member of the State Bar of Arizona's Character and Fitness Committee for seven years.

He has been named to Best Lawyers in America. Another personal accolade was being named Boss of the Year by the Tucson Legal Secretaries Association.

Burt is married to Nancy Kinerk, with whom he has four children.
